My Soap Making Story
|
| |
Like a lot of soapers these days, I started making soap as a hobby that soon transformed into a never-ending science project. Batches after batches…trying out different oils, fats and scents. My soap
pot became my canvas as I experimented with various colors and botanical additives (like cranberry seeds, pumice, etc). My family and friends were my eager product testers and would constantly encourage me to sell my creations.

| I have been making soap and bath products for about 5 years now. I aim for quality and focus on how the properties of various skin-nourishing oils that I use will benefit your skin. I use Essential Oils (naturally fragrant oils
extracted from different parts of plants), Fragrance Oils (synthetic scents) or both to scent my products.

My favorite process for making soap is called Cold Process. The Cold Process method is basically the mixing of animal or vegetable oils and/or fats with sodium
hydroxide, which then causes a natural chemical reaction that fuses into true soap. It's then cut up and left out to cure for about 4 to 8 weeks. The longer the soap cures, the milder the soap is on your skin.

I make my soap carefully in very small batches and one at a time. I often blend various colors to give my soaps an artistic look to go along with the quality I pride in. My soaps are left out to cure for about 4-8 weeks, depending on the oils and fragrances used. I then hand cut, trim and polish my soaps to the best of my ability to what I call….Skinful Delights!
